TALK TO ME TUESDAYS-PROTEIN SOURCES FOR VEGANS

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to Talk To Me Tuesday! Today, I have my first question to answer!!

Ashley from Atlanta wanted me to list some other sources where you can get protein as a vegan. As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, this is a question I get asked a lot! I addressed this very early on in the blog and for some answers you can click here.

I found some very interesting information on vegansprotein.com, you can check out what they have to say by clicking here.

Additionally, here is a list of just some of the sources where you can get protein:

Beans
Lentils
Split Peas
Peanuts
Green Peas
Soy (limited intake)- I will be addressing soy in a future post
Peanut Butter
Oatmeal
Brown Rice
Soy and Soy Free Protein Powder
Potatoes
Chick Peas
Kale
Tomatos
Pineapples
Apples
Avocados
Pears
Watermelons
Bananas
Peaches
Coconuts
Oranges
Strawberries

The protein content in the items listed is in varying amounts, but as long as you are eating a varied plant based diet, you will get more than enough protein. As I mentioned in the post listed above, our bodies do NOT need large amounts of protein to be healthy.

So, Ashley, I hope this gives you and everyone further insight and helps you out! Thanks for the question and keep them coming!!
