Happy Physical Fitness Friday!!

As I mentioned in last Friday's post, for the next few weeks I'm going to write about different weight training exercises to do for each body part. But first, I want to address how you can weight train at home if you don't have a gym membership.

I do not currently have a gym membership, but I am still able to get in my weight training. I have dumbbells at home as well as ankle weights that I use from time to time. If you are a Comcast subscriber, you can get workouts On Demand under Sports & Fitness through Exercise TV. Many of the workouts on there have programs that incorporate weights into the routine and believe me when I tell you they are no joke!
If you don't have Comcast, you can purchase DVD's from the store to use and you can go online and search for at home weight training exercises.

Below is a short list of ideas for equipment you can purchase for at home use.

DUMBBELLS- preferably iron instead of plastic to help prevent cracking.

WEIGHT BENCH- there are benches you can purchase that you can add attachments to in order to do leg extensions. Also look for benches that allow you to adjust the angle in order to do incline exercises.

BARBELL- one in which you can add weights.

You are NOT limited if you don't belong to a gym. If you are determined to get in your weight training, there is information out there waiting for you to use. In the following weeks, I will do my best to make sure I incorporate exercises that can be performed at home.

So, let's get it started! Meet me back here with your weights next week!
