WHATEVER WEDNESDAYS- EATING FOR YOUR EYES

Hey folks,

Welcome to this edition of Whatever Wednesdays! I was reading my SELF magazine and came across a very interesting article about the cure for blurry vision if you are one to have to stare at a computer all day.

They suggest having a spinach salad for lunch! A study done by the University of Georgia reports that lutein and zeaxanthin, which are antioxidants found in dark, leafy greens may help ease the discomfort of staring at lights too long. Billy R. Hammond Ph.D. and professor of neuroscience and behavior at University of Georgia states in the article that nutrients in leafy greens help the retina absorb the blue light that produces the glare, which can lessen eyestrain.

It is recommended that we try to get 12 milligrams of lutein and zeaxanthin a day from foods such as spinach, kale and collard greens!

So go green!
