Hey folks,

Welcome to this edition of Talk To Me Tuesdays!

Today's question is:  "What do you usually eat for Thanksgiving as a vegan?"

Well, I guess the more appropriate question would be, what do I not eat?! LOL!  Thanksgiving as a vegan is not much different than one being a meat eater.  Yes, the large component of turkey, ham and other meat offerings is of course omitted, but the rest is the same.  If you've been following this blog for a while or any of the countless others out there, you see there is no slim pickings in the food department for Thanksgiving or any other day for that matter.  My meals consist of the mouth watering sides sans any animal products.  So, collard greens, yams or sweet potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, black eyed peas (in my case, JJ's famous ones that I raved about yesterday), vegan mac 'n cheese, potato salad and so many other options.  The baked goods are also countless! I don't miss the meat, so I've never been into buying any turkey style meat alternative.  However, there are many on the market to try if you really want to incorporate something like that.

Also, many vegan restaurants offer vegan Thanksgiving meals you can purchase already prepared or some have dine-in options as well.  Just check the web and see if there are any in your area.  So, you can rest assured that your belly can be full and will be thankful for a nice vegan feast!
