Hey folks,

Welcome to another edition of Talk To Me Tuesdays!

Today's question comes from my girl Dawn Marrs...she asks:  "Do you ever worry about taking in too much estrogen with soy products? Is that a factor in determining how much soy you eat?"

Well, Dawn this is a very good yet controversial question.  I say this because this seems to be an ongoing debate.  I have heard arguments from both sides that are each convincing in their own right.  I actually posted a video from one side of the debate a while back that you can check out by clicking here

There are just so many facts coming from each side, so I really don't know.  I can tell you however, that I personally do not consume a lot of soy.  When I first became vegan, I depended on it a lot more, but as I've grown into my lifestyle and have done more research, I tend to use other alternatives so I don't use it as much.  I do use it from time to time if a recipe specifically calls for it and warns against using substitutions.  I may also eat it sometimes at restaurants, but it's not a mainstay of my diet at all.  So, if there is merit to the estrogen debate, I certainly don't consume enough to where I think it would be a concern for me. As with most things that are processed, it's always better to have them in moderation or of course in a perfect world, not at all.

Please click here for a rather informative article that looks at both sides of the issue.  I believe in a situation like this, all you can do is equip yourself with as much information as you can and let your spirit and body guide you..that's what I try to do! :-)

Thanks for the awesome question Dawn!  Everyone, please also check her!
