Health Inspiration

Happy Friday folks!

It's time for the weekend and also time for WEGO Health's Day 2 prompt!

Prompt: Find a quote and use it as inspiration.

I have heard and seen the following quote countless times and I just posted it on my Facebook page today as well.  It is truthful and simple and I hope for this day to truly come to pass.

“The doctor of the future will no longer treat the human frame with drugs, but rather will cure and prevent disease with nutrition.”~ Thomas Edison

Mr. Edison was indeed on to something when he spoke these words.  I feel we have certainly begun to move in this direction, but we still have a long way to go.  I feel that the focus of traditional medicine is still largely on the cure rather than the cause.  Of course we want to find cures for diseases, but if we don't really take a look at what people are doing to get ill in the first place, we will continue to miss the boat.  We each must take personal responsibility for our health and pay close attention to what we feed our bodies.  We are oftentimes too quick to grab a pill to curtail sickeness rather than research and find what may naturally work to get our bodies back in balance.  Unfortunately for centuries we have been conditioned to respond in this manner and the cycle will continue repeating until we change our minds and our actions.   It really can be as simple as exercising daily, centering your diet around whole foods, drinking more water and cutting back on sugar and processed foods.  I don't think anyone strives to be sick, but with each choice you make, you are designing a future of vibrancy or illness.

None of us are perfect and we all have moments where we can be hedonistic, but it's about being aware and making positive changes wherever possible.  This life is a journey and my hope is that more and more people live a disease free life and look to nature to cure ills and clear out the traditional medicine cabinet.  Here's to your health!
