I Just Love Having An Awesome Date..or Two or Three!

No, I'm not talking about the kind that takes you out to dinner.  In this instance, I'm speaking of the fruit.  I was just trying to get your attention with the title!;-)  Anyhoo, I've been putting dates into my smoothies lately and have fallen in love with the result!  The gorgeous green goodness you see in the photo is my new favorite smoothie of the moment and it includes dates!

I used a base of Coconut water and added in 3 dates, frozen mango chunks, two cups of spinach, chia seeds and banana. DE-LI-CIOUS!

Dates provide a variety of essential nutrients, and are a great source of potassium. They do have a sugar content of about 80% and the remainder consists of protein, fiber, and trace elements that include boron, cobalt, copper, fluorine, magnesium, manganese, selenium, and zinc.
