Firing Up My Engine!
I am definitely ready for the weekend! Last night after the gym, all I wanted to do was go home, shower and eat something quick and easy. So, I stopped at Whole Foods to pick up a few things and decided to grab a pack of the Engine 2 burgers to go alongside some kale salad (hopefully this reminds you that you can still have healthy fast food)!:-)
Anyway, I put one in the oven while I was showering since they only take about 15 minutes to bake. I was STARVING by the time I was ready to eat and I must say that the burger wasn't what I expected. Since the flavor I bought was "curried", I expected there to be some kick but it was a little bland for my taste. I haven't been using ketchup that much lately, but I had to break down and put a little on there just to give the burger some zing. That did help a little bit and then I also took a few pieces (without the ketchup) and actually mixed them in with the salad to see how that would work and that helped some too.
So, the conclusion I came to was that these burgers will work best "dressed up"! I think maybe some sauteed onions, lettuce and tomato will do the trick or crumbled up in a salad as I mention above. Now, if you're looking for a straight forward burger and you don't need the extra kick, then you'll be good to go with these. I would probably buy them again just to have on hand for nights when I want something quick and easy- I'll just have my fixin's on hand!
