Healthful Aphrodisiacs

Hey folks!

We have long since heard of aphrodisiac foods, oysters arguably heading up the list.  However, I was curious to find out what vegan foods might make you want to get closer to your mate AND are good for you!  Let’s take a look at a few I found!

ALMONDS- Almonds were regarded as fertility symbols through antiquity. The aroma of almond is said to arouse passion in females. Scientists say that almonds provide high doses of vitamin E, magnesium and even fiber which is said to put some validity to the almond myth after all.

BASIL- Basil has a lot of beneficial effects on human body. It has a fantastic aroma that is said to have an aphrodisiac effect; it is also very stimulating.

CHOCOLATE- Pure chocolate, contains several compounds including anandamide, the psyochoactive feel-good chemical, and PEA (phenylethylamine), touted the “love chemical,” releases dopamine in the pleasure centers of the brain. PEA is said to induce feelings of excitement, attraction and euphoria.

BANANAS- Bananas are full of potassium, magnesium and B vitamins. It also contains minerals and enzymes, said to enhance the male libido.

and surprisingly..

GARLIC- Surely the last thing you want to think of eating when you want to get close to someone.  However, garlic is chockfull of allicin, an ingredient that will increase blood flow.
